“Jazz on a Sunday” is presented by Madison Music Collective (MMC). Madison Music Collective is a non-profit membership organization founded in 1985 that works to build a thriving creative music community in the Greater Madison area by growing the local audience for jazz and other forms of improvised music. MMC offers a seasonal series of concerts and educational programs, as well concerts featuring local, regional, and nationally known jazz artists. Madison Music Collective’s 2017 Winter-Spring Series is made possible by grants from Dane Arts (with additional funds from the Endres Mfg. Company Foundation), The Evjue Foundation, Inc. Guitarist and composer John Moulder brings his trio from Chicago. Moulder's latest release 
Keyboardist Vijay Tellis-Nayak first gained national recognition by winning the Eastern Illinois University Young Composers Competition three years in a row while still in grammar school. As a member of the Chicago Federation of Musicians union, he regularly performs in the orchestra pit for productions such as Lion King, Wicked, and Imagine Tap. Vijay has performed with Randy Brecker, Jennifer Hudson, and Howard Levy, and he is the new face of the Hammond organ company's new line of SK keyboards. He is a regular on the Chicago jazz scene, appearing often at the Green Mill, Green Dolphin Street, House of Blues, and the Jazz Showcase.
Drummer Dane Richeson is Professor of Music at Lawrence University Conservatory of Music in Appleton, Wisconsin. Richeson has performed with such diverse artists as Bobby McFerrin, Geoffrey Keezer, Gunther Schuller, Joe Lovano, NDR Big Band of Germany, The Bach Dancing and Dynamite Society, Gordon Stout, and Nancy Zeltsman. He has been featured at festivals including Ravinia, North Sea and Montreux Jazz Festivals, the Central Conservatory Chamber Music Festival in Beijing, Ivana Bilic Marimba Week in Croatia, and several Zeltsman Marimba Festivals. Mr. Richeson has performed on numerous recordings including works on Blue Note Records, Naxos, CRI, Albany and others. He has lived in three distinctly different cultures: Ghana, Africa--studying the music and dance of the Ewe people with master drummer Godwin Agbeli and gyil with Kakraba Lobi; Matanzas, Cuba--studying with Afro-Cuban drummer Jesus Alfonso; and Salvador and Sao Paulo, Brazil--studying the drumming of Bahia with Giba Conceicao, and choro styles with Guello.
